UPCOMING OUTREACH EVENTS, FALL 2016
Two exciting events this month!
Sunday October 23rd- Eventapalooza: Also known as The WPSU Fall Kids Carnival, we will be expanding and contracting marshmallows in a vacuum.
Thursday November 10th- Exploration-U: the final event will be at the Bellefonte Area High School where we will be doing a "squishy circuits" demo where kids will be making circuits from play dough (transportation can be provided if necessary). Volunteers will be asked to help out with demos and interact with kids.
If you're interested in helping out, contact Nicole and Alexandra. Nicole and Alexandra organize outreach events for us to attend every month, so look out for volunteer announcements throughout the year!
As always you'll need to have completed your yearly mandatory reporter training, If you haven't please go to the following link: psuohrlearning.skillport.com and complete the course.

This is a community event that takes place at Bellefonte Area High School. We will be doing a cabbage indicator solution demo. See this website for more information on the demo. Hope to see you there!
Sunday, October 12th, 1-4 pm
Eventapalooza is a large-scale community science event located in the Outreach Bldg. (100 bldg) in Innovation Park. We anticipate having about 1500 people (500+) children attend our event over the 3 hour period. There will be four PBS kids characters visiting with us that day (The Cat in the Hat, Daniel Tiger and Peg + Cat), as well as (hopefully) the Nittany Lion.
We'll be doing Glow-In-the-Dark Silly Putty!
Where Science and Wizarding Worlds Collide (Harry Potter themed)
Sunday, October 19th, 6-8:45
This event is intended to educate kids and families and have (spoof) fun at the same time. Faculty, staff and students are invited to do a short demo or skit in the lab for the audience (10 min only, then groups rotate).
