Demystify the process of applying to graduate school
Increase students' interest in pursuing a graduate degree
Increase students' confidence in their ability to select a program that fits them
Enable students to network with graduate students and professional researchers in their fields of interest
We accomplish this by organizing a series of panels and speakers on the following topics:
Panel: What is grad school like? Should I go?
How can undergraduates gain research experience, refine their interests, and become good applicants?
Application timeline and components; strategies for taking the GRE and writing essays
Faculty perspective on admissions
Panel: How to choose a program and thrive in grad school
These are presented to a group of undergraduate students ideally within a somewhat well-defined subject area. After each session, refreshments are provided to encourage students and panelists/speakers to chat informally. The students also receive course packets with additional advice. For more information on future events or how to get involved, contact Jennifer or Kelsey.
